Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park welcomes youth groups, motorcoach tours, church groups, civic organizations, family reunions, weddings, primitive camping and boat charters. Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park features the Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History in downtown Parkersburg, the Island Belle Sternwheeler, and Blennerhassett Island. The island is the home of gift shops, horse drawn wagon rides, bicycle rentals, Blennerhassett Mansion tours, and the Putnam-Houser House also known as Maple Shade, along with many special events. Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park is a 'tour-worthy' choice for day and evening enjoyment.
The Museum of Regional History, Blennerhassett Museum, is a year-round facility with meeting area options. Audio-visual equipment available includes podium with microphone, projection screens, projector, stage and lighting. Rental of the conference room occurs throughout the year, as available. The conference room at the museum is accessible by elevator or stairway and it located on the third floor of the museum building and a variety of setup arrangements are possible.
Blennerhassett Island is a unique venue for many types of groups. Operating from May through October, you'll find picnic shelters are popular for reunions, weddings and private gatherings.
Picnic Shelter area includes a box grill, fireplace, electricity and wood can be provided.
Point Park Concessions is located just outside of Point Park between the Regional Museum and the boat dock in Parkersburg.
"Harman's Landing" is a wonderful seasonal meal and snack concession located on Blennerhassett Island. It is located near the sternwheeler landing and accessible. A shelter provide casual seating to enjoy a meal, a cold soft drink or snacks.
In addition to bicycle rentals, horse-drawn wagon rides, and Blennerhassett Mansion tours, the island also features a gift shop, walking paths, and public restrooms. Harman's Landing, the food concession does group catering. Island guests with limited mobility receive assistance by volunteers and a golf car for transportation to island features. Wedding sites, primitive camping, and most importantly, a ride on the Island Belle Sternwheeler create memorable group itineraries. The Island Belle Sternwheeler is available for charter trips.
